Morning Coffee Fine Art Photograph by Kristybee
Warm summer days are just around the
corner (though maybe a little further away in the Pacific NW than for
the rest of you) and with them return my craving for icy cold iced
coffee. Running to the nearest Starbucks every time the craving hits
gets spendy, but luckily this delicious, refreshing beverage is cheap
and easy to make at home.
The best way to make iced coffee is to
start out with cold coffee. Not the left over coffee from the ... Continue reading ...

I'm a very accident prone person, so I wasn't at all surprised that I've been in considerable pain for the past 3 days from pulling a muscle in my shoulder from simply reaching for my coffee cup on the coffee table. I haven't really been able to work the whole time, which has been driving me nuts (even typing this out now is a bit strenuous). Luckily, I had put together this simple, overnight stuffed french toast prior to my injuries. When morning came and I could barely move, all I had to do... Continue reading ...

This is one of my favorite French recipes, perfect for a romantic
dinner for two. The recipe can easily be doubled of tripled for a nice
dinner party as well. This dish looks much more complicated on paper
than it actually is to cook and will impress whoever you're serving it
to.
Ingredients- 1 oz dried wild mushrooms (morel or chanterelle work best, but you can also use more affordable oyster or porchini mushrooms, or a mixture of various mushrooms)
- 3/4 cup of low sodium chicken stock
- 2 tbsps uns...

I love making truffles, so much so in fact that a few years back I seriously contemplated running away to France to study under a world renowned chocolatier. Even though I never took that leap, I still enjoy creating my own chocolate creations. I really don't like flavoring my truffles with artificial flavors, extracts, and liquors like you see in most recipes, so I've had to find ways to infuse the truffles using fresh ingredients, resulting in truer flavors. One of the greatest challenges I... Continue reading ...

Since I am now relying solely on my
jewelry sales as a source of income (and its not exactly stable yet),
I've been having to reevaluate my expenses and looking for things to
cut out of the budget. I've been finding that there are lots of
little luxuries that I truly can't live without, so I've been putting
my crafty know-how to work to create cheaper, homemade alternatives.
One of these luxuries is skin care products. Hey, what girl doesn't
want to look pretty? After doing a little research... Continue reading ...

Two of my goals for the new year is to work on my product branding and prepare for in-person sales. Today's project furthers me in both. I'm very much a DIY kinda gal, so I decided to make my own earring and necklace hang tags. I decided to use Avery business card paper. They're the perfect size for the project, and Avery offers online templates to create your cards. They offer pre-made templates as well as blank templates, and you can upload your own graphics. I used the long blank template ... Continue reading ...
