The Best of Etsy, All in One Print!

I found this fantastic little piece of art while I was surfing around on DeviantArt the other day. The perfect embodiment of all things Etsy: an owl, a mustache, antlers, some bacon, and a cup cake.

Chocolate Fest 2010

I am a serious chocoholic, so I was ecstatic to make my annual pilgrimage to the World Forestry Center for the fifth annual Chocolate Fest this weekend. It was 3 buildings of truffles, fudge, brownies, chocolate martinis, wine tasting, and overall chocolate education. What more could you ask for on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon?

Holiday Spirit Dog

Here it is, just the first week of January, and I have already seen both Valentine's Day and Easter paraphernalia in the stores. Have we really become a culture that can't exist in the absence of consumer driven holiday knickknacks? Goals for 2010

I'm two months in to my new business and its time to look forward to the future for the new year. What are my goals for 2010?

1) Getting ready for in-person sales

I'm still working away on my booth design, which I hope to have ready by the second week of January. I'm also working
on creating my own hang tags for my jewelry and building up inventory over the next few weeks. I plan to start with
the Indy Mart in late January, then look at doing First Thursday with Handmade NW.

Show Booth Design Ideas

I've been working on getting set up as a vendor at Foster Indy Mart, a new sales venue for self representing artists and crafters in Portland. I'm shooting at starting in mid to late January. I've never done any craft sales, so I have to get working on designing a booth set up. My boyfriend and I headed over to The Rebuilding Center to sift through reclaimed materials to use for my display, and I found these cute old shutters that I think would make great backdrops for my table.
