Spring Cleaning

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Thursday, April 8, 2010, In : Jewelry

Looking around my studio, I'm realizing that I have lots of odds and ends left over from past projects. A few stray mismatched beads here, a couple of charms I no longer use in my designs there. Overall, these misfit components are all contributing to my serious disorganization malady. So, it's time for some Spring cleaning!

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sorting through my materials inventory and weeding out these neglected items and listing them for sale in my Etsy shop. They're all in ...

Busy, Busy Week

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Friday, February 5, 2010, In : Jewelry
This week is the busiest I've had since before Christmas. I got a lot of new products finished, including a few custom orders. I was lucky enough to have Craftzine use my Mexican Chocolate Truffle recipe, which has brought in some new business, I got some fliers designed for off-line advertising, helping my brother plan his upcoming wedding (yay!), and I've been cooking like crazy, so expect some new recipes soon :)

This is, by far, my favorite piece this week. This necklac...

I've always been infatuated with amethyst. I've never been much of a purple wearer, but I've always been able to sneak this gorgeous stone into many an ensemble none the less. This week, I've been working a lot with amethyst, not only because I adore it, ...

Free US Shipping on All Valentine's Items!

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Monday, January 25, 2010, In : Jewelry

I'm not the type to jump on the kitschy holiday theme bandwagon, but since I happen to love hearts anyway, Ive been working hard to make up some Valentine's Day themed loveliness. These designs are classy enough to be worn all year long, so they won't be gathering dust until the next V-day. I have a whole section of my shop dedicated to these red, pink, and heart filled creations. All of the items in this section ...

Thrift Store Finds and New Designs

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Monday, January 11, 2010, In : Jewelry
While scouring a thrift store this weekend for containers to make more soy candles, my boyfriend pointed this out to me and I instantly knew I had to have it!

This fantastic piece of art has now taken the place on our bathroom wall recently vacated by the "No Pants" picture, which has relocated to above our bed.

This weekend wasn't all thrift store shopping. I also managed to get some work in while watching a marathon viewing of Season 4 of Dexter (John Lithgow totally creeps me out!). Here's s...

Garnet-January's Birth Stone

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Monday, January 4, 2010, In : Jewelry
Garnets have long been one of my favorite stones. I love the traditional deep red hues of this gem, since red is my favorite color. I've recently become fond of black garnet as well. I've been working on creating new pieces in garnet in honor of January, for which garnet is the birthstone.

Working With Antiqued Brass

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, In : Jewelry
The past few weeks, I've begun working with antiqued brass. I love the look, its a very versatile material, and its much, much cheaper than sterling silver, allowing me to offer more affordable pieces without compromising design. There are some fantastic suppliers of antiqued brass components, such as Ornamentea, Art Beads, and Kabela Design. The unfortunate thing is that I myself can't wear any of the new brass creations due to a severe metal allergy. So, I will have to settle for (hopefully...

Locked Necklace

Posted by Lisa Rezendez on Monday, December 21, 2009, In : Jewelry
I've been fascinated with old skeletons keys since I was four years old and my family moved to a house in a small farming community in Missouri. The previous owners had left a few boxes in the basement and there I found my first skeleton key. It was black iron and actually had a simple skull on the head of it. The key didn't go to any of the doors in the house (the house was only about 10 years old at the time and had all modern locks), but I kept it anyway. Ever since, every time I went to a...
